The way counselling works is that you talk about what's happening in your life and about your thoughts and feelings. I listen very carefully, with the aim of understanding what it’s like to be you. Of course, I also have my own perspective - and a professional training in psychology - and I use these to help you explore your life and relationships.
I don’t tell you what you should do. Only you know what works for you in your life. But I may suggest alternative thoughts, perspectives and ideas for you to consider.
A crucial part of counselling is the confidentiality of our relationship, which means that I do not disclose anything you say to me to another person (unless there is a risk of harm to yourself or others). This is so that you feel comfortable talking about anything, without fear of repercussion. And it means that we can talk with complete honesty, something that is rare in most social relationships.
Clients sometimes find that things get worse before they get better. This is understandable because when you start talking about things, it makes you think about them more. But if you stay with the process, you can think things through, which very often results in greater clarity or insight into your own life, and helps you decide how to move forward.

Sara provided a friendly space where I could work through my problems and anxieties in a non-judgemental environment. Her style of asking open questions, looking at situations from different perspectives, and encouraging me to set actions worked well for me personally. I wouldn't be as emotionally stable and happy - in myself or my life now - if it weren't for these sessions
Sara's attentive and caring approach to counselling allowed me to feel understood and supported as she guided me through the landscape of my own misconceptions and fears. Thanks to Sara I feel more grounded and at peace which has helped me and my relationship immensely
