Are you looking for help? Unless we're unusually lucky, most of us need help at some time in our lives. It may be help to cope with a significant change in our lives; whether that's the result of the end of a relationship, bereavement, moving overseas, coping with illness, or any of the other life events to which we are all vulnerable. Or it may be to think carefully about our lives and the kind of future we'd like... Talking to a counsellor is a form of self-help. It requires courage to take the initiative to find a counsellor who can support you to work through issues in your life. It's important that the counsellor you choose is someone with whom you feel comfortable and who works in a way that suits you. That's the reason I suggest that the first session is exploratory with no obligation to continue. It gives you an opportunity to get to know me a little and to ask questions, and allows me to check that I have the skills to match your needs. |
Sara's compassion and warmth, combined with her professional expertise, helped me to understand emotions and feelings with which I had been struggling for years. I feel more confident and accepting of myself (and my mistakes), and am a much more balanced, happier person since undergoing counselling
The counselling has helped to give me a whole new level of appreciation for myself,
which I'll be able to take into every aspect of my life
